FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hanover Township Public Schools Announces Partnership with Maschio’s Food Services for 2025–2026 School Year
Whippany, NJ – August 2025 Hanover Township Public Schools is pleased to announce that Maschio’s Food Services has been officially approved by the Board of Education as the district’s new food service provider for the 2025–2026 school year.
The selection of Maschio’s follows a competitive USDA-compliant Request for Proposal (RFP) process and supports our participation in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). Known for their commitment to high-quality ingredients, nutrition education, and strong partnerships with local schools, Maschio’s serves more than 180 districts across New Jersey and beyond.
“Launching our own in-district school lunch program is a major step forward,” said Superintendent Justin Toomey. “Maschio’s brings deep experience, an outstanding reputation, and a personalized approach that aligns with the needs of our community. We’re thrilled to welcome them to Hanover.”
The district has already begun working closely with Maschio’s to ensure a smooth rollout for families. Next steps include:
- PTA Advisory Committee meeting with Maschio’s representatives on August 7th
- Hosting a parent information session on August 20th @6pm
- Launching an online payment portal for families to manage lunch accounts (coming soon)
- Providing access to information for those unable to attend in person
- Having Maschio’s representatives available at Back-to-School Nights to answer questions and assist families
Behind the scenes, preparations continue to upgrade kitchen and serving spaces and to finalize all required NJ Department of Education approvals. The district remains committed to being fully operational by the first day of school, with contingencies in place to meet that goal.
“We know how important school meals are to student wellness and learning,” said Mr. Toomey. “This program isn’t just about food, it’s about giving our students a better experience, every day.”
Updates will continue throughout the summer. Families are encouraged to visit www.hanovertwpschools.com and follow district communications for the latest announcements.
