Session #6 - Root Causes & Initiatives

Session #6 - Root Causes & Initiatives
April 22, 2026 | MJS Media Center, 6:30–8:30 PM

The Strategic Planning process enters its next phase as staff-based implementation teams take the lead. In Session 6, these teams will examine the root causes behind the gaps and challenges identified throughout the planning process. The goal is to move beyond surface-level observations and understand what drives the district's challenges and successes across each of the five goal areas.

Each team will work within their assigned pillar to determine which factors have the greatest influence on current outcomes. From there, teams will identify targeted initiatives designed to address root causes and advance the SMART objectives developed by the Core Team in Session 5. This work ensures that action plans are grounded in evidence rather than assumptions.

Who Is Participating?

Session 6 is led by staff-based implementation teams organized around each of the five goal areas: Safety and Wellness, Teaching and Learning, Leadership and Governance, Community and Culture, and Finance and Facilities. These teams carry forward the vision and priorities established by the Core Team of teachers, staff, parents, community members, and Board of Education representatives who participated in Sessions 1 through 5.

"We know where we want to go.
Now we figure out what is standing in the way and build the right plans to move forward."
