General Education Inclusive Preschool enrollment in Hanover Township Public Schools occurs through a lottery process and requires an official program acceptance notice before registration.
Only families who received confirmation that their child was awarded a preschool seat should proceed.
Residency Requirement
The student and parent or legal guardian must reside in Hanover Township at the time of registration. Future moves, pending home closings, or anticipated leases are not accepted.
Proof of Residency Requirements
Parents or guardians must provide the following documentation.
- Deed or current mortgage statement for homeowners, or a full current lease for renters, in the parent or guardian name
- Two different utility bills dated within 30 days showing the parent or guardian name and a Hanover Township address. Examples include gas, electric, cable, or water
- Online statements or service confirmations are acceptable
Families who do not own or lease a residence and live with a Hanover Township resident must complete a residency affidavit and verification process before registration.

- Legal custody documentation when applicable
Program Eligibility
This inclusive preschool program serves three and four year old children who reside in Hanover Township and are not age eligible for kindergarten.
Children must meet New Jersey preschool age requirements for the applicable school year and must be toilet trained.

Registration Process
Two step process. Neither step requires the presence of the student. However, the online registration forms must be completed for each child you are registering.
Step 1. Online Registration and Document Upload
Families complete the full online registration in the district registration portal. All required forms and documents must be uploaded during this step. Registration does not move forward until the online packet is complete.
Step 2. Attend your Scheduled In-Person Registration Meeting (at our Administrative Offices)
After online registration submission, families attend a required in person registration meeting with the Special Services Department. At this meeting, families must bring all original documents that were uploaded in the registration portal. Originals are reviewed and verified in person. Students are not required to be in attendance.
Registration finalizes only after the in person meeting and document verification are complete.

Developmental Concerns

The program operates only at Bee Meadow School in Whippany. Session placement depends on enrollment and space availability.
Program Overview
The General Education Inclusive Preschool program provides an inclusive learning environment aligned with the New Jersey Preschool Teaching and Learning Expectations.
Classes include typically developing students and students with disabilities. Certified teachers lead instruction with paraprofessional support.
This is a tuition based program. Fees are waived for families eligible for free or reduced lunch. Transportation is the responsibility of the parent or guardian.
Part II: Visiting the School
Welcome Meeting at Bee Meadow School
After registration is finalized and documents are verified, Bee Meadow School contacts you to schedule a welcome meeting for you and your child.
This visit introduces your family to the preschool environment and supports a smooth transition into the program.
During the visit, you will:
- Meet preschool teachers and support staff
- Learn daily routines, schedules, and expectations
- Ask questions about the preschool program
- Help your child become familiar with the school setting
- Begin building a connection with the Hanover Township school community
This meeting focuses on helping your child feel comfortable and prepared for the start of preschool.
