  • 6th Grade French/Spanish Mini 

    .

    Students study French/Spanish in 6th grade to begin their journey as Novice language learners. As novices students will be able to use memorized words and phrases to understand and talk about familiar topics related to school, home, and the community. The curriculum is focused on language learning which is meaningful, enjoyable, and interactive. Our classroom instructional activities will provide students with opportunities to demonstrate what they can do with their cultural and linguistic knowledge.

  • 7th Grade French

     In seventh grade students continue their study of French from 6th grade in order to demonstrate growth towards Novice proficiency benchmarks. In addition to using memorized words and phrases to talk about familiar topics related to school, home, and the community, students will communicate in the target language using words, lists, and simple sentences to ask and answer questions and handle simple transactions related to everyday life. Students are provided with opportunities to demonstrate their abilities to engage in conversation, understand and interpret spoken and writen language and recognize the perspectives of diverse cultures.

  • 8th Grade French 

    .

    In eight grade students will continue their language journey to complete Level 1 of the language. They will continue their study of French from 7th grade in order to demonstrate growth towards Novice proficiency benchmarks. In addition to using words, lists, and simple sentences related to school, home, and the community, students will communicate in the target language to describe people, places, objects and daily activities through oral and written descriptions related to everday life and engage in meangful conversation while gaining an understanding of the perspectives of diverse cultures.
