Ms. Katharine Keyser
6th and 8th Grade Social Studies
Ms. Keyser has been teaching social studies at Memorial Junior School since 2011. She attended Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in History and MA in Education. She holds three NJ Teaching Certifications and has actively participated in professional development to continue her education. Ms. Keyser has visited countries in Latin America, Europe and Asia and loves bringing her travel experiences into the classroom. As a product of the Hanover Township school system, Ms. Keyser is honored to be giving back to the community by teaching at the school where she once attended.
6th Grade Curriculum
The 6th grade social studies curriculum explores culture, geography, the Old and New Stone Ages, and various ancient civilizations on the continents of Africa, Europe, and Asia. The major units covered include Ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, China, Greece, Rome and Arabia.
8th Grade Curriculum
The 8th grade social studies curriculum is focused on United States history. We begin the year by studying United States geography and learning about early settlements of the new world and then travel through our nation's past ending in the beginning part of the 20th century.
