Mrs. Kalavrouziotis
I have been a teacher for over ten years. I can truly say I enjoy what I do. I especially take joy in working with the upper-elementary aged students. I enjoy seeing their personalities bloom and watching them grow academically and socially throughout the school year.
I am originally from the state of Vermont. It is where I was born, grew up, and even attended college at the University of Vermont. I received my degree in Elementary Education. After college, I moved to New York where I began my teaching career as a fourth grade teacher in Jackson Heights, Queens. While working I continued my education and earned a Masters in Literacy from Touro College.
A couple years later, I moved to Morris County, New Jersey, which is the area my husband is from. For the next couple of years I taught third grade at Salem Drive School. Shortly after I stayed home to raise my children. Several years ago I transitioned back to the workforce. This is my fifth year being a fourth grade teacher at Mountview Road School.
I have three elementary aged children at home. I now have a twelve year old boy in seventh grade, a ten year old boy in fifth grade, and a nine year old girl in fouth grade. While not preparing lessons and researching new teaching techniques, I spend my time with my family. We go on bike rides, enjoy Friday night 'Movie Night,' travel to new places, play boardgames like Pictionary and Backgammon, and attend their never-ending sporting events and activities.
