Welcome to 7th Grade Language Arts with Mrs Owens!
Class Content
During Period 3 Language Arts (LA), classwork will include the following:
1. Vocabulary: We have a new vocabulary book this year!
2. Grammar: Types of Sentences and Common Errors
3. Writing:
- Open-Ended Paragraph,
- Figurative Language and Dialogue,
- Plot/Setting/Characters,
- Speeches,
- Poetry,
- 5 Paragraph Expository Essay,
- 5 Paragraph Research Essay,
- 5 Paragraph Persuasive Essay.
Students will be expected to complete classwork and homework. Announcements and assignments will be posted on Google Classroom. Grades will be based on classwork, homework and assessments.
About Mrs. Owens
This is my 10th year teaching at MJS! I received my BA from Cornell University and Masters Degree in Special Education from New Jersey City University. I also received my Learning Disabilities Teaching Consultant certification from William Paterson. My philosophy is to provide a structured approach in a positive and supportive learning environment.
