Subscription Busing

Introducing Subscription Busing for 2026-2027

At the April 28, 2026 Board of Education meeting, the Board approved a change to the district's transportation policy as part of the 2026-2027 school budget. The district is aligning its busing eligibility with the state-mandated standard under N.J.S.A. 18A:39-1, moving from a 1.5-mile radius to a 2.0-mile radius from school.

Under this change, students living within 2.0 miles of their assigned school will no longer be eligible for district-provided "courtesy" transportation. Students assigned to designated hazardous routes will continue to receive busing at no cost, regardless of distance.

What is Subscription Busing?

Subscription busing is a fee-based transportation option for families whose students are not eligible for regular district "courtesy" busing. The program allows families to purchase a seat on an existing bus route for the full school year. Subscription busing is offered on a first-come, first-served basis and is subject to available capacity on existing routes.
