Complete your Return-to-School Forms in Genesis by 8-24
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we prepare for the start of the 2026-2027 school year, this is a reminder that our Return-to-School Forms are now open in the Genesis Parent Portal.
As previously shared, Hanover Township Public Schools transitioned from PowerSchool to Genesis this summer. An email with login information and instructions was sent on August 5. If you missed that communication, click here to read it.
Homeroom assignments will be available Monday, August 24.
Beginning Monday, August 24 at 12:00 PM, families who have completed the required beginning-of-year items will have access to their child’s teacher assignment, homeroom, schedule, transportation information, and other student information in Genesis.
Before Monday, please make sure you have:

Completed and finalized all required Return-to-School Forms
✓
Completed the Free and Reduced-Price School Meals Application, if applicable, or selected the option to decline the application
✓
Paid any applicable fees, including the Chromebook Protection Plan or subscription busing
When reviewing your Return-to-School Forms, red means there is still something outstanding. When all required forms have been completed and finalized, you should no longer see them displayed in red.

Answers to Our Most Common Questions
I completed my forms. Why am I still seeing a popup?
If none of your required forms are displayed in red, you have completed them and may dismiss the popup message.
If a form is still red, open it and make sure you clicked Update Answers and completed the final confirmation at the bottom of the form. Also check the Free and Reduced-Price School Meals Application section and either complete the application or decline to apply.
Why don’t I see Return-to-School Forms for one of my children?
Genesis makes the forms available to the parent or guardian designated as the primary guardian for each individual child.
If you see forms for one child but not another, the primary guardian designation may differ between your children’s records. Please contact us so we can review and correct the family records.
The contacts for my child are wrong. Why can’t I change them?
Some contact information did not transfer cleanly during our transition from PowerSchool to Genesis, and we are actively correcting these records.
Only the primary guardian can submit contact changes. In addition, relationship labels such as mother, father, grandmother, or guardian must be corrected by district staff.
If you already submitted a contact change but still see the old information, your change is likely waiting for review. You do not need to wait for our approval to finish your forms or receive access to your child’s information on Monday.
I uploaded my child’s health documents. Why is the Health & Medical form still incomplete?
Uploading a document does not finalize the Health & Medical form. If you see a Remove File button next to your upload, the document was successfully received.
At the top of the Health & Medical form, click Confirm Contacts and confirm your child’s pediatrician, dentist, and preferred hospital. Then return to the form, scroll to the bottom, click Update Answers, and complete the final confirmation.
If you previously entered these contacts, you only need to confirm them again.

Our school secretaries returned from summer break on Monday, August 17. With our main office staff now back in the buildings, we have additional staff available to assist families through both the Technology Help Desk and your school’s main office.
We are receiving a large volume of emails and phone calls and are working to respond to everyone as quickly as possible. Using Ask Hank or reviewing the Genesis Parent Resources page may provide an immediate answer to many common questions.

We opened the Genesis Parent Portal for Return-to-School Forms on August 5, nearly three weeks before student information becomes available.
We intentionally provided this additional time because this is our first summer transitioning student and family records from PowerSchool to Genesis. We knew some records would require review, family relationships would need correction, and information would need verification.
This process gives our staff time to work with families and correct records so we begin the school year with accurate information in Genesis.
Most importantly, a family will not lose access to their child’s information on Monday because a contact correction or other district-side review is still waiting for our staff. If you have logged into Genesis, completed and finalized your required forms, and submitted any necessary corrections, we will take care of the remaining review on our end.
