Getting Started
Where should I begin as a new substitute?

Once you access your application, set up preferences and start finding jobs. Define preferred schools, call times, and non-work days.

Finding Jobs
Why am I not seeing any jobs?

Make sure your “Schools” preferences aren’t too narrow. If you still don’t see jobs, ask your district admin to check your setup. If calls aren’t coming, review your call time window.

How can I view and manage my scheduled jobs?

Use the Scheduled Jobs tab to see job details like time, location, and confirmation number. Depending on permissions, you can email the employee and view notes.

How do I choose my preferred schools?

Open Preferences → “Schools” to select locations you want to see or ignore. If you can’t edit this list, your district may restrict it.

How can I better my chances of getting jobs?

Search on app.frontlineeducation.com, call 1-800-942-3767, and enable mobile app notifications to see jobs earlier.

What if I miss a call from the Absence Management system?

Call back toll-free at 1-800-942-3767 or log in online to view jobs. Move quickly; the system may offer the job to the next substitute.

How do I cancel a scheduled job?

Policies vary by district and may restrict cancellation close to start time. Open Scheduled Jobs, find the job, and look for the Cancel button. If you can’t cancel, contact your district admin.

How do I indicate days that I cannot work?

Use the calendar on the homepage or go to Non Work Days in Preferences to add dates you aren’t available.

Account Settings
What is the Insights Platform and what does it do?

It unifies logins across Frontline apps so you use one username and password, plus other improvements.

How does a Frontline ID account differ from a Phone/PIN login?

Your Frontline ID is for web apps; your phone/PIN is still used for phone calls and kiosk time clocks.

How do I create a Frontline ID account?

You’ll either get an email invite or be prompted at sign in. Create your ID to access all Frontline apps with one login.

What should I do if I cannot sign in or if I forget my credentials?

Use “Forgot Username/Password” on the login page. For phone PINs, request it via the Absence Management PIN page. Contact your district admin if issues persist.

Where can I locate my PIN or Frontline ID?

Manage your Frontline ID under Account Settings → Frontline ID. Manage your phone PIN under Preferences → Phone Credentials.

Working in Multi-Districts
How do I add and manage multiple districts?

Multi-district subs create a multi-district PIN for phone access and can add districts under Preferences → District List.

Substitute Apps
What is the Frontline Mobile app, and how do I get it?

The free mobile app sends job alerts for districts using the Insights platform. Download from your app store and enable notifications.

Financial Information
How can I find my pay stub, W-2, or other payment information?

Frontline isn’t a staffing agency and doesn’t handle pay. Contact your district or staffing agency for pay stubs, W-2s, and payroll questions.
