    General Information:

    Students will be exposed to a variety of computer topics and acquire skills including:

    • Work on Typing Skills using Typing Club
    • Discuss Cyber Issues (cyber security, cyberbullying, cyber ethics)
    • Learn how to do Online Researching using Citations
    • Google Sheets (spreadsheet)
    • EPals with students from Taiwan
    • Google Slides to create presentations and Vector Images
    • GarageBand for podcasting 
    • Prezi to create presenatations
    • Google Sites to create a web site
    • Sketchup for 3D Design
    • Programming with JD Humanoid Robots
    • Scratch programming language
    • Financial Literacy using FUTURESMART program

     

    Expectations and Goals:

    Students will be proficient typists. They will be able to create and edit documents and presentations with confidence using Google Docs, Google Slides, Prezi, Weebly, and PowerPoint. Programs such as Tinkerkad, Sketchup, and Scratch will be used to enhance creativity and programming skills  Students will understand concerns and precautions surrounding cyber issues including cyberbullying.  Finally, they will have the opportunity to work with and program a JD Humanoid robot.

     

    Course Materials:

    No textbooks or supplies required.

     

    Assignments will be graded using a rubric or point system.  Some of the projects/assignments this quarter will include:

    Cycle Class - no homework
