All pupils’ unique abilities will be developed within a nurturing environment so that they achieve the New Jersey Student Learning Standards at all grade levels through the offering of excellent and innovative academic, athletic, and artistic experiences.

January Superintendent Newsletter

The January newsletter highlights a strong start to the new year across Hanover Township Public Schools, with students quickly returning to focused learning and schools filled with activity, creativity, and collaboration. Superintendent Mr. Toomey shares updates on classroom instruction, assessment work, board governance, professional learning, strategic planning, and family engagement. Each school showcases hands on learning, performances, STEM projects, community traditions, and meaningful student experiences, from elementary celebrations and assemblies to junior high science labs, mock trials, and high school transition activities. The district also emphasizes staff collaboration through ongoing professional development, highlights a well attended Online Safety Parent Academy with the New Jersey State Police, and announces the launch of the new Online Safety Hub to support families with digital well being and privacy. The newsletter includes key updates on the strategic planning process, the 2026 to 2027 district calendar, Preschool and Kindergarten registration, and important upcoming dates, reinforcing the district’s continued focus on student growth, safety, communication, and partnership with families.

Online Safety Hub

Hanover Township Public Schools is dedicated to providing students with the skills needed for success in school, at work, and throughout life. While the Internet is a core tool for 21st-century learning, we recognize that today’s digital world brings real risks alongside real benefits.

To support our community, the Technology Department has launched the Online Safety Hub, a central resource for students, families, and staff focused on digital well-being and privacy.

December Superintendent Newsletter

The December newsletter captures the warmth, energy, and sense of community felt across Hanover Township Public Schools as the district moved through the holiday season. November Superintendent Newsletter

November's newsletter includes highlights from across all schools, including Halloween events, cultural activities, STEM lessons, student council elections, and partnerships with Barclays, the Rotary Club, and the Kids Helping Kids Club. Memorial Junior School features its Boo Bash, Treats for Troops program, band partnership with Whippany Park High School, Ellie’s final days at MJS, and recognition of its Technology program with a Program Excellence Award. The newsletter also shares updates on literacy professional learning, the first Strategic Planning meeting, preparations for emergency notification testing, and key calendar reminders for families as the holiday season approaches.

Seeing Eye Puppy Ellie Wags Into a New Chapter

Ellie, the beloved Seeing Eye puppy who spent the past year brightening classrooms and hallways across Hanover Township Public Schools, has officially advanced to the next stage of her guide dog training. Her daily presence at Memorial Junior School brought comfort, joy, and meaningful lessons to students and staff. Her journey leaves a lasting mark on the district.

Whippany Park HS Marching Band Inspire Future Wildcats

The Whippany Park High School Wildcat Marching Band brought energy, excitement, and Wildcat pride to Memorial Junior School with a powerful performance that filled the gym and inspired future musicians. Superintendent Justin Toomey, a 2005 Whippany Park graduate and former band member, joined the trombone section during the visit and reflected on the lasting impact of music and community.

Led by longtime directors Christopher Sabatino and Paul Sciaino, the Pride of Hanover Township continues a tradition of excellence that unites generations of students, families, and educators. Hanover Township Public Schools and the Hanover Park Regional High School District celebrate this partnership and shared commitment to student achievement and community pride.
