All pupils’ unique abilities will be developed within a nurturing environment so that they achieve the New Jersey Student Learning Standards at all grade levels through the offering of excellent and innovative academic, athletic, and artistic experiences.

February 2026 Newsletter

This month’s HTPS Excellence Spotlight highlights a busy and positive March across the district. Mr. Toomey’s message reflects strong student growth, a full calendar of events, and pride in the work happening in every school. Across Bee Meadow, Mountview, Salem Drive, and Memorial Junior School, students took part in author visits, reading celebrations, concerts, plays, talent shows, science activities, athletics, leadership programs, and hands-on learning experiences that brought classrooms to life. The newsletter shows a district filled with energy, creativity, and strong school spirit.

The newsletter also shares key district updates for families. Staff continued important professional learning work tied to literacy, curriculum, assessment, and collaboration. The strategic planning process is moving into its next phase, while early planning is also underway for a possible March 2027 referendum focused on school facilities, safety, and infrastructure needs. Families are also reminded about the 2026 to 2027 district calendar, kindergarten and preschool registration, upcoming Board of Education meetings, the preliminary budget review, the April 28 budget presentation, and important spring dates such as recess and conferences.

NJSLASpringAssessmentUpdates

We have updated the Spring 2026 NJSLA testing schedule due to New Jersey’s new adaptive ELA and Math assessments.

Students in grades 3 through 8 will take Reading, Writing, and Math assessments, with Algebra for eligible eighth graders and Science for grades 5 and 8.

Parents should review the revised testing dates and contact their building principal with any questions.

Hanover Township Public Schools has announced the appointment of Joseph Kowalski to the Board of Education.

A lifelong Hanover Township resident, father of three, and small business owner, Kowalski brings a strong commitment to education and community service.

Community members are invited to attend the March 24 public meeting, where he will be formally sworn in and begin his service.

December 2025 Newsletter

The January newsletter highlights a strong start to the new year across Hanover Township Public Schools, with students quickly returning to focused learning and schools filled with activity, creativity, and collaboration. Superintendent Mr. Toomey shares updates on classroom instruction, assessment work, board governance, professional learning, strategic planning, and family engagement. Each school showcases hands on learning, performances, STEM projects, community traditions, and meaningful student experiences, from elementary celebrations and assemblies to junior high science labs, mock trials, and high school transition activities. The district also emphasizes staff collaboration through ongoing professional development, highlights a well attended Online Safety Parent Academy with the New Jersey State Police, and announces the launch of the new Online Safety Hub to support families with digital well being and privacy.
